Anticipation

At Linda's website, A Swap For All Seasons, I joined the Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue swap.  I am so excited about the package I am putting together for Kelly Moore at ForThe Love of Laundry!  Kelly is my kind of girl - loves to craft, go junkin' and enjoy the simple things in life.  Kelly, here is a sneak peek at your goodies!

hmmm, this is something old  {sneaky smile}  I know it is not blue but I think you will love it!

something new {and sparkly too!}

something borrowed  {vintage but embellished by a not so vintage rose}

something blue, just for you  ;-)

Please stop by Kelly's blog HERE and etsy shop

ChrisTea

One of my dear friends is moving back to California. {boo!}  Even though she is from Cali, she has the generous and warm spirit of a southern girl through and through.

Christi is an avid reader and loves to have tea or wine with her books.  We thought it would be fun to have a tea party as one of her farewell events.  {yes Andy, did you know someone could have so many farewell events, lol!}

If you are ever in Newnan, Georgia, you need to try Holly Cottage Tea Room.  Linda is so gracious and thinks of everything.  Her mum is just the sweetest and a consumate hostess.  Sous chef Beth makes the most decadent treats ever.  I am so thankful for all of them - they made our tea party such a special and memorable one.

The day would not be special without making Christi wear a tiara.  Thankfully, we did not have to twist her arm too hard!  You couldn't see her angel wings, but they were there too.

Christi is an English major and particularly loves all things English.  I promise I did not pick which room we would be in.  I thought this one was perfect!

All of my sweet friends - every one of them is a precious and dear woman.

lovely linens

velvety tomato basil soup - yum!

Our tea tray

decadent desserts

A sweet bunch of lovely ladies  - {HUGS} girls!

I do not like good-byes {trying to keep the waterworks in check}.
We love you sweet Christi - we are definitely going to plan a trip to Cali.

Happy Mother's Day

I hope everyone was able to spend some time with the people they love on Mother's Day.

My family blesses me every day. I was very happy we were able to spend time together this Mother's Day. Another blessing - I was able to spend time with my Mom and Mother in law too.

I have been playing with trims lately. This is a corsage/pin I made by gathering some lace trim and tacking it down to some buckram. I added a blingy vintage clip on earring for the center. Cover the back with felt and pop on a pin.

This one definitely hit my girly heart strings.

Sometimes we can be fickle, right girls? I also wanted a corsage that had a twisted and tattered look.

I ripped strips of linen (yes girls, as much as I love linen, I decided to do it). This time I folded, tacked and twisted the frayed linen. A little fluff was needed on the side. I added more strips of linen, tulle, and some gorgeous hand-dyed seam binding my friend Ann (polkadots@numail.org) made.

This is the one I decided to wear on Mother's Day. I love fresh flowers - don't get me wrong.
I just wanted something different - you know what I mean?

I am such a dork!

{giggling out loud} I had started loading pics for my final post before I started the middle posts for our Petticoats and Parasols event. Let's face it - I know enough to be dangerous - to myself. Ha!
Well, I did not realize that when I finished editing and posting, the post would not appear in chronological order of the date it posted. Unfortunately, it appears on the date I started it.
UGGH!
Please scroll past my last two posts to see my post on Create day.
